Wanted to access into electronic portal med records. I plan on using with Logitech h bluetooth headset. If you never had a puppy: Dragon is for you. I have nothing to do with Nuance, DNS, DD3 or such companies except as a longterm customer with now approaching just over 10, hours use.

I am not disabled physically, so I blend with full function keyboard and mouse, but increasingly use commands. I am not a tech geek though addicted to tech. If i was am writing a book, I would have this available on each computer, as the license is per computer. I do not have experience with the larger professional versions that are out of my price range. I do not have trascription experience, as I am the one dictating. I am preferring bluetooth or USB headsets. I hope this helps. I am thinking about a name for Dragon Puppy. This is one of the best and cheapest upgrades I have ever done in more than 15 years of Dragon and 5 upgrades of this program.

I have used Dragon since Version 1.

I work with it daily at work. My work requires me to dictate into a Chrome based online program. Newer Chrome versions made Dragon 10 Medical repeatedly crash. Looking into upgrades, I found the newest version would force me to buy the expensive medical version to dictate into Practice Fusion, and possibly into other applications, while Version 11 would basically put my dictation where ever I put the cursor, and would utilize the power of my Intel i3 desktop. For such a low price, I decided to gamble and just buy V11 in the Premium. Upgrade forced a new install, which was no big deal, but I was unable to import my custom dictionary and the 50 or so voice macros I have set up over the years and I had to import the list and retrain those words, and redo macros from scratch.

Overall, this tiny upgrade was a great improvement and I have had no instability and noticeable improvement in performance. I did the install on one of the three computers I use for dictation as a trial and after a month of daily use, have installed this version on the other machines Windows 7 and Windows 8 with similarly good experience. Please forgive any nonsensical words or rhetorically incorrect sentences. Although I find the software to be effective, it is generally off a bit, requires you to reread or proofed everything that you write. As you'll see in this review, there are words that will be shown that will be out of context or inappropriate.

They will always be spelled correctly, however. Sometimes the software will hang up or freeze which can be quite frustrating. Conceptually conceptually, the idea is fabulous and very addicting. If you're okay with proofreading every sentence and finding that a lot of the sentences are grammatically incorrect, this is a decent product.

I've been using it for about a week and a half and still trying to make it work properly. Which are reading here is after weeks of tweaking and is still not right. Had I type this rather than using Dragon it would have been dead on right and pretty close to being just as fast. The reason I bring up this speed is by the time you have to go back through and proofread everything you might as well if typed it.

New update: I bring this up to warn you not to buy this if you have a computer that is a few years old or doesn't have a ridiculous amount of memory capacity. My CPU runs at percent usage with Dragon. Click here to go to the Official Dragon site. Note to Australian Customers: The tech.

Anyone out there tried this? Thanks for any help on this…. I, too, would like some guidance on this issue. It seems unreasonable to buy Dragon dictate for the Mac when there appears to be many problems, as opposed to loading Windows on the Mac and using the more time-tested Dragon NaturallySpeaking software. I am a long-time Mac user who records interviews with various folk and then transcribes.

I understand that Dragon Dictate 2 for Mac is trained to one speaker, me. Hence, it appears that I would have to listen to my recordings and speak them into the Mac in order to use Dictate. I am not feeling confident that software exists to do this for me.

I just got dragon dictate for the Mac I like it so far. I am still getting used to it. They have a free version on iPad and iOS devices get it soon it is a limited time offer. I have a dozens of interviews to do for my research. What is the best software to use for transcription and transferring to my iMac.

I want to use my iPod touch to record my interviews and transfer them onto my iMac as an audio file. I have downloaded Dictate2 for Mac a week back… i found a little notice that says I have not long to register product. I have been using the product. Somehow it was registered. I have filled in registration form and it tells me I have wrong serial numbers. A satisfaction Period.

That is usually the case with all purchases. The other comment I have is that the Australian Accent is much more different to an American accent… especially the word Com mand… not Cam mand. Is it compatible? Or should update to Word ? I have a Mac OS X. Did you every get a consensus on this topic: I have installed dragon for Mac with Office on Mac; but it seams buggy to me. Your input is great appreciated. Do I need snow leopard on my mac air to work dictate?

Does anyone have experience using these voice recognition programs for scientific dictations, molecular biology, microbiology, etc? Recommendations for the best choices for Macs would be appreciated. I only use it to type. If it degrades the longer you use it it might be that you are getting lazier with your speech the longer you speak. Try speaking clearly and see if it improves. I am considering buying Dragon Dictate to use with medico legal reports which will contain al lot of medical terminology, is it possible to correct spelling using the key board rather than dictate correct spelling?

I dictate but then type to correct. I recently purchased DNS version Dragon for Mac also has odd idiosyncrasies. The transcription sucks, as I mentioned, but it also capitalizes words randomly and inserts random spaces. There are a lot of little niggling details it gets wrong that adds up to a very frustrating experience for a piece of software that costs so much.

This is simple. If you have a Mac? You still want to get Dragon for PC. Stay with me for a moment here, because this is the solution I ultimately came up with since Dragon for PC is the one piece of software that I found myself missing when I made the switch to Mac. Which means you get all the benefits of the one or two Windows programs you need to run while also retaining all your Mac stuff. The cost makes sense too.

So there you have it.

Up next: As noted the newer versions are much improved and Dragon NaturallySpeaking 15 out-of-the-box is pretty amazing. I use it on a pretty much daily basis to dictate letters and progress notes. Using a fast computer with the solid-state hard drive and a sufficient amount of RAM makes things way more pleasant.
